Mickelson Mania hits Big Apple

He pulled quite the feat grabbing a share of the 54-hole lead in his first U.S. Open, but the Englishman's in the way today.

That's how it's bound to feel with what seems like all of New York rooting for Phil Mickelson to win his third consecutive major championship.

With birdies on two of the final five holes on a flawless back-nine finish Saturday, Mickelson moved atop the leaderboard with Ferrie and pushed Mickelson Mania to new heights.

This is no ordinary phenomenon sweeping New York.

"Obviously, Phil's a huge favorite," Ferrie said. "I'm a big fan of Phil's as well."
